An enema is not always easy to take or hold. Some boys* protest and refuse to take or hold their enemas. The bardex nozzle is very helpful when giving an enema to a reluctant boy, whether for therapeutic, pleasure or punishment reasons.
(*Note: the term ‘boy’ refers to a consenting male of at least 21 years of age.)
Initially, the bardex nozzle was used when administering a barium enema for the x-ray examination of the large colon. Its balloons would ensure the barium was retained throughout the examination.
They were initially made of latex but with time, due to latex allergy, they are made now of silicone or other plastics. Below is a picture showing the silicone version of the double bardex nozzle as well as other necessary equipment for administering an enema. The two black bulbs and their valves are used to inflate the balloons and control the amount of air in each.
The nozzle is inserted such that one balloon is inside the anus and one is outside.
Once seated, the balloons are inflated. Once inflated, the balloons effectively seal the anus.
There is an added bonus to using a bardex nozzle. Once the interior balloon is inflated, it will press on the prostate gland. For many boys, this pressure is extremely pleasurable and enhances the enema experience.
The bardex comes as a single and a double balloon version. Below is a disposable single balloon version used currently for barium enemas. While meant as a disposable, with care, it can be used at home many times.
The picture below shows the typical double balloon latex bardex. Postured below it is a German made Rausch double balloon bardex nozzle. It is very similar to the upper pictured bardex nozzle. When inflated, the balloons are slightly different shape but serve the same purpose.

They come in silicone and latex. Latex feels better and is harder to insert, but due to lethal allergic reactions, no longer made in US. Only place to get it is Germany through medtech3000.de. Silicone version come in 2 types- larger inner balloon 750 cc – many guys find it uncomfortable, and 500 cc (maybe 250 cc ) – more comfortable. They are available thru amazon and ebay.
